Our Story

Every great love story has a beginning, and this is ours…

As many people know, we met online, quickly bonding over our shared love of Cyprus, our families, both having sisters, & of course our pets. Chris had his fish, while I had a bunny & 3 little guinea pigs at the time.

Chris planned an adrenaline fuelled first date on the 13th of December 2018 - clay pigeon shooting & segways at Escot House. We went for lunch in Topsham but were both too nervous to eat! First and last time that has ever happened!!

Chris met my nearest & dearest when we all marshalled the Christmas race at Escot Park in December - getting the approval of Paul & Karen Frissen too - and we soon planned a trip to Cyprus together the following month to meet the rest of the family. Chris fitted into my life & family very quickly.

We spent a year driving between Torquay & Exeter to see each other as much as possible while both working long unsocial hours, before moving in together just before Christmas 2019.

We've always loved our holidays and our first big trip together included a Rome city break and beautiful Amalfi coast tour. Since then we've had amazing trips to Crete, Mexico, Rhodes & Florida - as well as many family trips to Cyprus.

In 2021 we welcomed Gino to our family of 2 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs & all the fish.

The Proposal

On our 2nd trip to Florida together Chris (finally!) popped the question! He planned a lovely date day to Harry P Leu botanical gardens in Orlando, heading to Winter Park afterwards for some lunch and then on a scenic boat tour of Lake Osceola

Chris managed to keep it all a surprise for me, including designing the ring, getting it through Heathrow & Miami airports in his hand luggage and discreetly from the car into his pocket to walk through the gardens. It was a lovely day.
